OperaCreole, founded with my daughter Aria Mason in 2011, is the only Black women/mother-daughter-owned opera company in the U.S.

Our unique mission is restorative justice for the 19th-century N.O. free composers of colors in opera and classical music and other composers of the African diaspora while also preserving the rich Creole language and culture through the folksongs of Congo Square.

Dédé was born free in New Orleans in 1827. Restorative Justice for him 137 later, a featured on NBC Nightly News last February.

The World Premieres will be: January 23, 2025, in New Orleans in partnership with the Historic New Orleans Collection and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. February 3, in Washington D.C., February 5, in New York, in partnership with Washington, D.C. based Opera Lafayette.
